CPWD LICENSE

A CPWD license refers to an enlistment or registration issued by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) of the Government of India, allowing contractors to participate in civil, electrical, and maintenance works tendered by CPWD.

CPWD (Central Public Works Department) is the premier central government agency responsible for public sector construction projects in India, including:


  • Government buildings
  • Roads and bridges
  • Housing projects
  • Electrical and mechanical works

Types of CPWD Contractor Categories:


  1. Civil Works:- Class I (Super), Class I, II, III, IV, V
  2. Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) Works:- Class I, II, III, IV
  3. Horticulture Works:- Categories based on experience and capability

  1. Proof of Date of Commencement of Business (MOA, AOA, COI/Partnership Deed)
  2. 3 work order (PO) which has higher value (Should Not be Older than 7 Years from Now) (work contract agreement with BOQ, completion certificate, Final Bill, TDS deduction details (26AS) and certificate if any.)
  3. Pan Card, Adhaar card, Photo of Directors/partners or proprietor as the case may be.
  4. Board Resolution and Authorization letter as the case may be
  5. CA Certificate about the turnover
  6. Bank Solvency certificate applicable with class or CA net worth certificate
  7. GST Certificate
  8. Affidavit from 1st class magistrate (in case of proprietor only)
  9. Annexure
  10. Application Form
