FoSCos/ FSSAI STATE LICENSE

The State FSSAI License is issued by the State Food Safety Department under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. It is mandatory for medium-sized food businesses operating within a single state and having a turnover between ₹12 lakhs and ₹20 crores per annum.


Who Needs a State FSSAI License?


  • Medium-scale food manufacturers, processors, or storage units
  • Food transporters and distributors operating within one state
  • Medium-sized restaurants, food chains, cloud kitchens
  • Wholesale food suppliers and catering units
  • Food packaging or labeling units
  • Units involved in dairy, meat processing, bakeries, etc.

REQUIRED CRITERIA FOR FSSAI State License


   

The FSSAI State License has to be taken by mid-sized companies that have an annual turnover or a profit greater than within Rs. 12 Lakhs to Rs. 20 Crores. Small and medium business entities like food producers, transporters, marketers, retailers, and food processing units need to get a food license from the State Government. State FSSAI License form B is needed to be filed when the food unit’s turnover is less than 20 crores and whose area of operation is limited to the state only. It is given by the Government of state.
